Basic Function The Maintenance Electrical Specialist is accountable for providing day-to-day technical support for the site maintenance and production departments. The Maintenance Electrical Specialist initiates and/or participates in root cause analysis and develops/implements solutions to prevent future failures. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans, troubleshooting and recommending/overseeing repairs. This position is a technical resource for the maintenance technicians, engineers and supervisors when conducting routine maintenance and repairs. Roles & Responsibilities Take a leadership role in troubleshooting and determining corrective action; Coordinate/network with other technical resources or sites to ensure troubleshooting efforts are accurate and timely. Support and implement maintenance systems, processes and procedures aligned with the site maintenance objective:
Develop and implement procedures to comply with Operational Excellence on PM compliance Develop standard maintenance plan practices Document technical information (repairs, settings, etc.) Effectively prioritize issues based on plant economics, downtime or second quality product. Initiate and/or participate in root cause failure analysis of electrical equipment failures working with operations and maintenance; implement solutions to prevent repeat failures. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for electrical equipment. Represent the maintenance group in cross team troubleshooting with operations, technical, process control and HSE. Participate in Electrical Technical Network; identify best practices from team for reducing cost or improving reliability of electrical equipment. Utilize state of the art and industry best practices to ensure quality and cost effective repairs. Audit maintenance productivity and recommends improvements/upgrades. Provide input on training/developmental needs for the craft technicians in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor; will develop and deliver training as needed. Take a leadership role in developing repair scopes and then coordinate/oversee critical repair work in the field and/or at vendor shops. Act as a technical resource for technicians, supervisors and engineers. Promote safety in the plant. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and incident investigations. Incorporate sound safety and environmental principles in all maintenance related activities. Ensure compliance with applicable ISO 9001 standards. Specifications / Qualifications Associate's Degree in Industrial Electrical Technology or related field, equivalent two-year trade school or completed related apprenticeship plus five (5) years maintenance experience with extensive knowledge of an industrial petrochemical facility's equipment and history, or ten (10) years industrial maintenance experience without the degree. A thorough understanding of the LYB site maintenance work processes and its interactions with operations. Ability to supervise/lead a crew during outages and/or fill in for the first line supervisor. Excellent analytical skills to effectively evaluate equipment performance, troubleshoot equipment performance issues and knowledge to drive continuous process improvement. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface and relate complex concepts/issues to site leadership. Excellent problem solving and team work skills. Self-starter with independent decision making skills Experience using SAP in a maintenance orientation is preferred.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
