Job Title: Transmission Builder/Master Builder
Job Description: The builder is responsible for diagnosing and building transmissions in the AAMCO center. The builder must be proficient in rebuilding all transmissions - manual and automatic. The builder will assist the team in ordering parts, maintaining inventory and performing R&R and basic Total Car Care repair and maintenance services as required. The builder will help the CSM/shop foreman determine proper work flow and work distribution.
Specific tasks:
1. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of transmission problem diagnosis and rebuilding.
2. Consistently follow AAMCO procedures to meet quality and production goals.
3. Accurately perform (MPI) Multi-Point Inspection reports when required.
4. Assist CSM and Shop Forman with parts ordering.
5. Work with, or as needed, as an R&R and Total Car Care Technician to insure productivity and quality services are maintained.
6. Evaluate CBs to determine cause and solution.
7. Participate in on-going AAMCO training and certification program.
8. Maintain a clean work environment and perform equipment maintenance as required.
9. Perform special projects as directed by the Dealer or CSM.
Standards of Performance:
o Deliver 100% customer satisfaction to every customer.
o Work toward high productivity standards
? Units per week: minimum of 4
? 100% productivity - personal labor hours produced to hours worked
? Work toward continual improvement of CB ratio
? Overall shop CB rate below _10_%
o Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
o Adhere to all Federal, State and Local environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
o Help CSM and Forman manage parts cost
o Maintain required AAMCO training.
o Work toward AAMCO Master Builder status
o Must have a current driver's license
o Work toward specific AAMCO Certification status and maintain appropriate ASE Automobile & Light Truck SeriesCertifications for specific specialty services assigned. A2 - Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, A3 - Manual Drive Train & Axles.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
